Converge is badass. Converge is not heavy metal, hardcore, metalcore, thrash, death, puke, whatever. They go beyond the realm of genre and push the envelope of heavy music till it bleeds out your ear drum. Quite possibly the most urgent noise in the universe. They sound like a melee between a rabid wolverine, a wildcat, and a jackhammer. Or an exorcism. They deliver this sonic carnage with uber-tight chops and demented riffage that makes Black Flag sound like The Knack.
